I just came across this resource from the writing center at Michigan State, which might be most useful for 2nd year and 3rd year CCI/SIS PhD students, but I think also contains some great tips/information that can be used at any time in the program. "Navigating the PhD" addresses, among other things: * Managing Time & Academic Relationships * Writing Processes & Strategies for Academic Writing * Appendices: Time, Relationships, & Writing * 3: Managing Academic Relationships * 5: Comprehensive Exam Tips * 8: Dissertation Proposal Tips Some things, such as the workshop dates are specific to Michigan State, but a lot of the other pieces seem to transfer nicely to us at CCI.
