The Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library, University of Central Florida, College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida is seeking applicants for a team-oriented, enthusiastic emerging technologies librarian. This is a mid-career, non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will provide instruction on use of evidence based medicine apps to College of Medicine students and faculty. The successful candidate will also lead the library in promoting and implementing new technologies for use in the medical education curriculum and for patient care.

The appointment includes an internal title of emerging technologies librarian and head of library technology and information services.

Position Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution.

Preferences

• At least 3-5 years of teaching and presentation experience, in particular experience providing instruction on use of evidence based medicine resources;  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and evaluating emerging technologies;  • Demonstrated experience with implementing and managing emerging and/or mobile technologies in a library setting;  • Record of research, presentation, and publication; • AHIP membership.
