~~The Atlanta University Center - Robert W. Woodruff Library supports the teaching and learning missions of four institutions of higher learning that comprise the world’s largest consortium of HBCUs—Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.  Conveniently located and easily accessible to the campuses, the Woodruff Library is the center of the intellectual and social life at the Atlanta University Center.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Atlanta University Center – Robert W. Woodruff Library is committed to displaying excellence in our delivery of service.  Notable accomplishments include, recipient of two Communicator Awards for print communication materials, recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant for HBCU Photographic Preservation Project Round II, and national recognition with the receipt of two awards in the 28th Annual Educational Advertising Awards. 
To continue our excellence in program and services, the library seeks an experienced, energetic, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to join the Interlibrary Loan Unit of the Content and Collection Management Department as the Unit Head, of Interlibrary Loan.  The incumbent will be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of interlibrary loan and document delivery, including setting policy, establishing goals, and planning workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of interlibrary loan and resource delivery services including the borrowing and lending of materials, document delivery, and article purchase-on-demand services.
  • Implements pertinent ILLiad features and updates, including developing local add-ons to increase ILL workflow efficiency.
  • Maintains ILLiad online request forms and applies local customizations as needed.
  • Troubleshoots software and equipment issues related to resource delivery.
  • Provides leadership in the design and implementation of resource delivery services.
  • Manages copyright compliance for electronic course reserves materials.
  • Develops policies and procedures aligned with best practices in resource delivery services.
  • Keeps abreast of trends and developments and actively pursues innovations in resource sharing, document delivery, and copyright law as it pertains to resource sharing.
  • Serves on internal committees and working groups as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in interlibrary loan and other resource delivery workflows.
  • Thorough understanding of ILLiad.
  • Experience working with integrated library systems (preferably OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services).
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to service.
  • Experience with copyright compliance.
  • Two (2) plus experience supervising staff.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
