Job Announcement

 

Title:  Senior Library Assistant II Pay Grade 36

 

Duties:  Located in our Knoxville office.  The primary function of this position is to provide everyday administrative support to the research and information center including assisting with periodicals maintenance, circulation/collection maintenance, database content maintenance, website maintenance, maintenance of agency social media sites and surveys as needed.

 

Secondarily, this position will support the agency’s research and information distribution initiatives through searching for information, information inquiries, supervision of a student assistant, and working with consultants and others on projects as needed.

 

Supervision:  Provides guidance to one part-time student position.

 

Qualifications:  Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related area.  3 years of experience with the management of electronic library resources and access tools. Prefer familiarity with local government.  Preferred job skills include internet searching, basic web-content editing and experience with regular social media site maintenance and instruction. Requires excellent interpersonal (written and oral) skills with a strong customer service orientation. Must have extensive computer software experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
