Good Morning Canoe and Hikers!

I hope everyone had the best Fall Adventure Trip this weekend! There are a few thank yous in order:

Randy: Thank you so much for all of your hard work in planning and organizing this trip! We love you and appreciate you so much!
Liz Carter: Thank you for paying for the campground and most of the gas!
Jordan and Kyle: Thank you both for being awesome (and brave) for driving the van! (Thanks for not crashing). :)

Please remember that if you went on the trip this weekend, it is mandatory that you be at UTOP today at 5:00 to help unload all the group gear and turn in the gear you checked out.

There seems to be some confusion on driving that I want to clear up. To drive on ANY trip you need to have done two things:
1) Make sure that you have filled out the driver form THIS YEAR on the Sport Club page. It expires every year.
2) When you sign up to go on a trip, make sure you write on the sign up sheet that you want to drive. Officers have to turn in the drivers list way before the day of the trip so if you’re not on the list we turn in, you can’t get free gas. We can also get suspended for letting you drive even if you have filled out the driving form if you were not on the drivers list.

It is super important that you guys are flexible when we are trying to figure out the car situation at Lot 66. If we let everyone drive that wants to drive, we will have WAY too many cars at our destination and we won’t have as much money in our account to spend on gear and other trips because it will all be spent on gas. There was a lot of sass to Austin about driving for F.A.T and that needs to stop.

And while we are on the subject of not so fun things, I want to remind you guys that we as a club need to always be respectful at ALL campsites we camp at. I know everyone got excited about the game but screaming any obscenities and//or curse words WILL NOT be tolerated. We rent from Adventures Unlimited every year for Fall Bash (FAT) and we definitely want to stay in good relations with them. We also just don’t want to look like jerks.

Last reminder: READ YOUR EMAILS! The officers had many people email/text/call us asking us questions about where we were meeting/gear to pack/ when to meet/ etc. Those details were all in the Surviver Guide that I sent out and Randy went over these details at meetings multiple times! I work really hard to try to make sure everyone is informed so if you’re feeling like I’m not emailing enough or not sending helpful info shoot me an email with your suggestions and I’ll do a better job! :) :)

Now onto happier things:
1) There are no official trips this weekend (Oct 3) but if anyone is getting outside and wants some company let everyone know at the meeting.
2) The volunteer form for Boo at the Zoo is due TOMORROW. Email Mason if you have any questions.
3) The weekend of Oct. 23 is open for trip suggestions so if there is anything you want to do, suggest it at the meeting.

Hope you guys have a great Monday and I’ll see you all on Wednesday!
