Help Us Dedicate the Student Union This Friday

You’re invited to the dedication of the new Student Union at 4:00 p.m. this Friday on the plaza adjacent to the Pedestrian Bridge. The event will celebrate the midpoint in the multiyear project and will include a ribbon cutting. Additionally, VolShop and VolTech will have special offers and discounts throughout the day in celebration of the opening.

Lunch and Learn: An Open Conversation about Civility

The first Lunch and Learn of the year, hosted by the UT Libraries Diversity Committee and the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, begins at noon on Tuesday, September 15, in the Hodges Library Mary Greer Room. Ernest Brothers, associate dean of the Graduate School, will facilitate a discussion on how to promote civility on campus while recognizing and appreciating the diversity of individual and collective abilities and achievements. Bring your lunch; snacks will be provided.

Effective campus response to an emergency depends on preparation. Just like playing a sport or a musical instrument, prior knowledge and practice make a difference. 9/11 Never Forget Project

Help the Young Americans for Freedom create a memorial consisting of 2,977 flags to commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The group will gather at 8:00 p.m. tonight beside the HSS Amphitheater to construct the memorial. The flags will stay in place all day on September 11.

Big Orange Friday Goes Red, White, and Blue

SGA is encouraging you to switch out your orange gear for red, white, and blue this Friday in remembrance of September 11, 2001. The organization will be selling buttons from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Pedestrian Walkway to benefit the Remembrance Rescue Project.
