UT Alert and Safety Notices 101: Clery Act Geography

Last week in Vol Update, UT Police explained the difference between UT Alerts and Safety Notices and under which circumstances students, faculty, and staff would receive these messages. Today, UT Police explain the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and when it requires a UT Alert or Safety Notice to be sent out. Take a moment to read this important safety information.

Apply for the McClure Scholarship

The W. K. McClure Scholarship program awards UT students up to $5,000 to support study, research, or creative projects abroad that focus on world affairs issues. The deadline to apply is March 8. Learn more about the scholarship and eligibility requirements.

Request Your Ticket for Arkansas Game

The UT versus Arkansas game is right around the corner—set for Saturday, October 3, in Neyland Stadium. Make sure you are in the Rocky Top Rowdies student section by requesting your $10 ticket on Big Orange Tix this Wednesday or Thursday, September 23 and 24.

HBO Go, Max Go Available to On-Campus Residents

Life in the residence halls has its advantages. If you live on campus, you now get your own HBO GO and MAX GO accounts included with your housing. To gain access to thousands of HBO and Cinemax shows and movies, just visit HBO GO or MAX GO, select “Univ of Tennessee Knoxville” from the sign-in menu, and follow the instructions. Apply to Be an Ignite Team Leader

As an Ignite Team Leader, you will educate freshmen about leadership and service opportunities that can help them successfully transition to college life. Team leaders serve as mentors, helping new students learn what it means to be a Volunteer. Applications are due Thursday, October 15.

The Center for Career Development is hosting three days of internship and job fairs, including the Supply Chain Management Fair; the Business, Retail, and Government Fair; and the Engineering and STEM Fair, this week in Thompson-Boling Arena. All students are invited to attend these fairs to search for internships, jobs, or networking opportunities. Take a Break and Relax at Yoga Fest

The Center for Health Education and Wellness will host the UT Yoga Fest from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this Thursday in Circle Park. Join the center for an afternoon of relaxing yoga practice and meditation. There will be raffle prizes, professional yoga instruction, and healthy snacks available to participants.
