Vol Talks and Walks, the Orange Plate
Special, and Lunch Hours are just a few of the programs you can participate in through the Office of the
Dean of Students. A special “Sweet Treat” edition of Vol Talks and Walks
will take place from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. this Wednesday on the Pedestrian Walkway. Stop
by to meet Dean of Students Melissa Shivers and share your concerns, suggestions, and
accomplishments.

If you have financial aid that is more than
the cost to attend the university, you will receive excess financial aid funds through direct
deposit into your bank account. Direct deposits are scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, and
should show up in your bank account within two to four business days. Those who do not
have direct deposit will be sent a paper check.

Help plan and execute cultural, educational,
and social programming that draws thousands of people from campus and the community
each year as a member of the Central Program Council. From politics to ballet, films to
fine art, there’s something for everyone. Applications are due September 10.

If you have added a course that has
increased your tuition and fees, you must pay your balance by 4:30 p.m. Friday, August
28. Check your MyUTK account to see if you have any outstanding payments due. Those
who do not pay by the due date will be signed up for the deferred payment plan.
Enrollment in the deferred payment plan involves an additional fee.

UT has formed a recovery community, Rocky Top Recovery Group,
for students, faculty, and staff in recovery, those thinking about recovery, or those who
are allies of those in recovery. The first meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow at the
Wesley House.

change grading options, or drop a class without a W for first-session courses. Friday,
August 28, is the last day that you can register or add, change grading options, or drop a

learning projects focusing on a unique social theme during fall break. Applications are

every Wednesday until October 21 at the UT Gardens on UT’s agricultural
campus.
