What to Do Before Arriving on Campus

Most of our new Vols have completed orientation—now it’s time to prepare for your first semester on Rocky Top. Check our list of things you need to complete between now and move-in day.

Immunization Requirements Due Before Move-In

You should have already received information from the Student Health Center about state-mandated immunization requirements. Please complete these requirements and submit your forms to the Student Health Center online or by mail as soon as possible. If you do not fulfill the immunization requirement before move-in weekend, you will not be able to move in to your residence hall.

Get Involved with a Sorority or Fraternity

Are you interested in joining one of the more than forty sororities and fraternities on campus? Learn about the four Greek councils—Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council. Your First Assignment: First-Year Studies 100

This year’s FYS 100 book is The Book of Unknown Americans, a novel by Cristina Henriquez. An online assignment is due August 7 and you’ll be notified about attending a required group discussion during Welcome Week. Other FYS 100 course requirements must be completed by August 28. FYS 100 is a required course for all incoming freshmen. It includes a reading experience and online assignments that introduce you to campus life and resources. To begin your assignments, visit the First-Year Studies website.
