Boston College Libraries seek a highly collaborative Head of Library Systems and Applications to provide leadership and direction for innovative services and technologies. The Libraries strive for a nimble and dynamic environment that encourages exploration of user-centered technology enhancements. The successful candidate will have an inherent desire to develop, manage, and assess services designed to support the Boston College community of users. Candidates must understand the broad landscape of trends in information technology and libraries, and must have a demonstrated track record of successful project management and implementation of technologies and services. The Libraries are developing a strong program in Digital Initiatives and Services, and the Head of Systems will be a collaborative partner with colleagues in the Digital departments. The Head will work closely with library administration, university IT, academic computing, and other stakeholders to take advantage of technological developments that enhance teaching, learning, research and scholarship.
The Head Librarian, Systems & Applications leads the Library Systems Department of eight, and provides overall direction for management of enterprise library systems, technologies and applications while building and supporting an infrastructure that facilitates the adoption of the next-generation of library services. This position coordinates and manages configuration, implementation and support of core enterprise library systems
* A minimum of 7 years' experience post MLS. 3+ years of managerial experience preferred.
* Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
* Experience with project planning and implementation.
* Experience configuring and supporting vendor-supplied library systems required, experience with Ex Libris systems preferred
* Experience developing web-based applications using appropriate tools.

Research Services Librarian / Lecturer in Law Jean & Alexander Heard Libraries of Vanderbilt University Alyne Queener Massey Law Library DESCRIPTION: The Alyne Queener Massey Law Library at Vanderbilt University seeks a creative, energetic, and highly customer-oriented librarian to join our team. The Research Services Librarian will provide legal reference and research services, participate in the faculty liaison program, and teach legal research classes in the first-year Legal Research & Writing program. The person in this position will also develop and teach a one-credit upper-division specialized legal research course. This position reports to the Associate Director for Public Services. Key Responsibilities:
Teach legal research skills in the first-year Legal Research & Writing program
Develop and teach on a regular basis an upper-division specialized legal research course that aligns with Vanderbilt Law School’s curriculum and programs
