HDIAC provides information and collaboration to various communities across the depth and breadth of our focus areas. Additionally, HDIAC maintains extensive data of existing scientific and technical information (STI) and provides original analysis to DoD organizations; including: federal, state, and local governments; academia and industry. The focus area of HDIAC include: · Homeland Defense and Security · Critical Infrastructure Protection · Weapons of Mass Destruction · Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense · Biometrics · Medical · Cultural Studies · Alternative Energy HDIAC is looking for an energetic, proactive professional to lead our Publications section and efforts across all eight-focus areas. The *Publication Coordinator* will be responsible for: · Direct contact with government agencies, academic institutions, and related industries in our eight-focus areas · Developing and maintaining a publication schedule across our entire publication line · Reviewing and editing all HDIAC deliverables · Coordinating with / providing feedback to authors · Authoring client / customer deliverables and reports · Identifying, requesting, and following-up with authors to produce written products for our various publications · Working directly with the Outreach Coordinator, and government clients · Reporting progress, developments, and engagements directly to the Director / Deputy Director · Follow-up, and follow through with potential authors and · Developing original content for HDIAC publications · Providing graphics support to the HDIAC website, publications, and other deliverables Mandatory Qualifications: · US Citizenship and ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance · Expert interpersonal and professional communication · Writing and authoring professional deliverables · Experience in technical writing and editing · Detail oriented · Strong administrative skills, including meeting · Strong familiarity and usage of AP-style · Graphic Software – Photoshop or similar programs · Publication Software – Microsoft Publisher or similar programs Preferred Qualifications: · Master’s Degree in Journalism, English, or other technical-related fields · Experience with technical organizations / data · Military / DoD / Government experience with publications / editing · Editing and adjusting technical documents / publications for readability to a broader audience This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
