We’ve made it to the last month of
classes! It’s time to take a look back at some of our favorite moments of
March. Last month, some students enjoyed much-deserved rest during spring break
while others served various communities through Alternative Spring Break trips. Many
students also spent their free time outdoors enjoying the warm weather.

Chancellor Cheek and Dean of Students
Melissa Shivers surprised nine seniors to notify them that they had been selected as
Torchbearers. Congratulations to Rilwan Balogun, Matthew Barnett, Cierra Burdick,
Connor Dugosh, Kelsey Keny, Valerie King, Kenna Rewcastle, Julia Ross, and Christopher
Smith for being awarded the highest honor that a student can receive at the university.

Empowerment and Awareness at Tennessee, will offer thirty-five events this week that
aim to create safe spaces to have honest and open conversations about sex, sexuality,
relationships, gender, and sexual orientation. Learn more about the week and see a full

Join the discussion of how you can use your
voice to advocate for higher education during SGA’s I Will Be Heard
event. The discussion begins at noon this Friday in the Toyota Auditorium of the Howard
H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.
