Five Things for You to Do in April

The end of the semester draws closer, but that doesn’t mean things are slowing down on campus. With warm weather finally on our side, there are plenty of events happening around campus throughout the month. Here’s a list of five things to do in April.

Submit Your Ideas for the 2015 Homecoming Theme

All Campus Events wants to hear your ideas for the 2015 Homecoming week theme. Log in to VOLink and fill out this survey to share your suggestions. Homecoming week will take place November 8 through 14 with the Vols football team playing the University of North Texas on Saturday, November 14.

Students Compete in Bonnaroo Battle of the Bracket

Sam McCullough, a junior in finance, and Will Logan, a junior in marketing, are competing for the chance of a lifetime. Their band, Boy Named Banjo, hopes to perform at one of the world’s best music festivals, Bonnaroo. They have made it to the fourth of six rounds in the Bonnaroo Battle of the Bracket competition. Learn more about the band and how you can vote.

Town Hall Meeting with Campus Administrators

SGA’s Government Affairs Committee and Graduate Student Senate will host a town hall meeting to give students an opportunity to ask questions and suggest ideas to campus administrators. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Toyota Auditorium of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.

Trailblazer Speaker Series: Mark Dean

Local personality Hallerin Hilton Hill will interview Mark Dean, who was one of the lead inventors of the personal computer and now serves as the John Fisher Distinguished Professor in the UT College of Engineering. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in Hodges Library Auditorium.

Reserve Library Study Rooms at Home or On the Go

Students have been able to walk up to a group study room in Hodges Library and use the Room Wizard to immediately access the study space. Now you can reserve a group study room in advance from wherever you happen to be through the Libraries’ new online reservation system.
