Immediate Need for a Post-Master’s or Post-Bachelor’s Research Associate in Software Development at Oak Ridge National Laboratory!

ORAU announces a Research Associate position in Software Development with the Environmental Sciences Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Recent Bachelor’s or Master’s graduates in Computer Science or a related discipline, with a strong background in software development are encouraged to apply for the position. The Associate will be involved in various software development and applied data management activities that support projects in Earth Sciences Informatics at ORNL.

Qualifications include: strong software development knowledge for building Web user interfaces, strong background in informatics and computer programming, working experience in Linux and/or Windows servers, experience in one or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C, R, MatLab, SAS, IDL, Unix/Shell) and experience with databases (PostGreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

The position appointment is for two years, with possible long term position, depending on performance, mutual interest, and available funding. The salary will be competitive and the position includes benefits.
