Library Assistant - Adult Services SALARY: $11.08 per hour
The purpose of the class is to provide paraprofessional library services. The class is responsible for performing advanced bibliographic searches in interlibrary loan, acquisition, or circulation functions and/or information services using all available library sources and tools; providing research and/or assistance in public service areas involving extensive public contact in advising patrons in the use and location of materials or data bases; and/or developing and maintaining an audio-visual collection. Requires a bachelor's degree or an associate's degree with significant public library experience. Requires experience with library organizations or other related fields. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel; Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher preferred. Days and hours Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; one (1) evening per week to 8:00 p.m.; every 3rd Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
