A Look Back at Our February Favorites

Even though it’s the shortest month of the year, there’s been a lot happening around campus. The campus community participated in various Black History Month events, we celebrated VOLentine’s day, and the Volapalooza lineup was announced. International Dance Competition Tomorrow

Dances from China, Russia, Argentina, Japan, Iran, India, and the United States will be on display during tomorrow’s International Dance Competition. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the UC auditorium.

In recent weeks, there has been increased discussion about the campus process for responding to reports of sexual assault. Yesterday, Vice Chancellor for Student Life Vincent Carilli sent an e-mail to students with information about UT’s response to reports of sexual assaults. UT Offers New Leadership Studies Minor

The leadership studies minor, a collaboration between the Center for Leadership and Service and the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department, will prepare students to serve in leadership roles in campus, local, national, and global settings. Students from every major are encouraged to apply.

Environmental Leadership Award Nominations

Do you know a student or a faculty or staff member who goes the extra mile to Make Orange Green? Nominate them by March 31 for an Environmental Leadership Award. The awards are part of UT’s Earth Month celebration that takes place throughout the month of April.

University Housing Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run

Get your running shoes out of your closet and head to University Housing’s Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7. Registration is $15 and proceeds from the race will benefit Heifer International.

Courage to Climb Award: Nicole Skender

Nicole is a junior majoring in therapeutic recreation hailing from San Antonio, Texas. Through her academic studies, a research project with local nonprofit Restoration House, and her job at Breakthrough Corporation, Nicole has made a positive and lasting impact on the Knoxville community.
