The ideal candidate has a technical background that enables them to
work with software developers and has a demonstrated ability to deliver
high-quality, technical documentation in a fast-paced environment. This is a long-term, contract position,
averaging 20-30 hours per week. The
candidate must be able to work remotely with visits to the customer site as
needed.
Key Responsibilities
·
Write/edit
and format documents for customer submittals
·
Follow
company style standards, government standards, and specifications to develop
and deliver documentation
·
Work
independently to organize project documents for customer submittals, using the
scope of work and schedule to plan workload
·
Coordinate
writing input by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and provide assistance to the SMEs
·
Work
under project deadline pressure and successfully engage in multiple initiatives
simultaneously
· Interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
What You Need for the Role
·
Bachelor’s
degree in English, Communications, or related field
·
A
minimum of 5 years in a technical writing or lead writing role or equivalent
experience is preferred
·
Experience
using technical style guides
·
Experience
writing, editing, and delivering documentation in the software development
arena a plus
·
Working
directly with development teams
·
Excellent
MS Word skills
·
Strong
attention to detail and organization skills
·
Ability
to take a leadership role on assigned projects
·
Previous
experience working in an Agile programming environment a plus
