A Reminder About Your Tuition and Fees

Why stand in line to pay your tuition and fees? Make convenient and easy online payments on the One Stop website. Spring semester fee payments are due at 4:30 p.m. today.
Vol Tip: Your first step to apply for grants, federal work-study, scholarships (including the HOPE), and student loans for the 2015–2016 academic year is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Submit your FAFSA by Sunday, February 15. You may begin filling out the FAFSA, save it online, and return to it later.

VolShop Start-of-Semester Hours

The VolShop will offer extended hours tomorrow through Tuesday, January 13, at the University Center location so you can grab all of your class materials. Here’s a list of start-of-semester campus store hours.

Course Deadlines for this Semester

Be sure to log in to MyUTK before your classes begin later this week to familiarize yourself with class locations and to see if any of your class details have changed. As a reminder, your last day to add, change grading options, or drop classes without a W for first-session courses is Monday, January 12, and the deadline for full-session courses is Friday, January 16. The deadline for second-session courses is Monday, March 2.

Apply for the Carl Cowan Scholarship

The Carl Cowan Scholarship is available for undergraduate or graduate minority students who show financial need or outstanding achievement and involvement. Four scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded for the 2015– 2016 academic year. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 13.

Leadership Conference and Day of Service

Interested in serving the community while enhancing your leadership skills? Register for the Center for Leadership and Service’s annual Clifton M. Jones Student Leadership Conference and MLK Jr. Day of Service beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17.

Courage to Climb Award: Wayne Taylor

Wayne is a junior in accounting who truly embodies the Volunteer spirit. He has been the first and only Business Education for Talented Students (BETS) student to be accepted into the Global Leadership Scholars program and the Chancellor’s Honors program. His ultimate goal is to start his own firm that specifically serves individuals with disabilities in a low income area. Read more about Wayne’s accomplishments here.

I-House Hosts International Coffeehouse

Stop by the International Coffeehouse from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. every Wednesday through March 11 in the Mary E. Greer Room of Hodges Library. Meet new people while sampling food and coffee from all over the world. The event will highlight a different country each week with a region-specific coffee or tea and a small snack.
