Spring Brings Progress on Construction Projects

Spring semester has arrived, and it’s now peak season for our efforts to transform our campus. Several ongoing projects will soon cross major milestones, while a few new upgrades will kick off later this spring. Living on Campus Next Year?

You can pick your room for the 2015–2016 academic year beginning February 2 if you plan to live in a residence hall next year. You can choose to stay in your current room or request a room in another campus residence hall. You will need to log on to the My UT Housing portal to make your selection. More information, including a timeline for the room selection process, can be found here.

Apply for an Undergraduate Research Internship

Want to work on research or a creative project this summer? Apply for the undergraduate summer research internship. This internship will pay $15 an hour up to $1,900 for research and projects mentored by UT faculty. Apply by February 13.

Vol Night Long Hosts Wipeout Event and Fair

The first Vol Night Long of the semester is from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. tomorrow at the TRECS with Wipeout-themed obstacle course challenges and inflatables, Dip-n-Dots, and candy art. The Student Organization Fair will also be happening at the same time—giving you a chance to find out about various organizations to join on campus.

Submit Your Work to be Featured in Phoenix Magazine

Phoenix literary and arts magazine is accepting submissions for its spring semester issue from 11:10 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, on the first-floor lobby of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building and from 11:10 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. Thursday, January 22, in the second-floor hallway of the Arts and Architecture Building. The magazine is looking for great art, photography, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. For questions and other submission opportunities, e-mail [log in to unmask].

Faculty, Students Continue Haiti Post-Earthquake Rebuilding Efforts

Earlier this week marked five years since a massive earthquake rocked Haiti. Since then, UT faculty and students have helped the country’s rebuilding efforts by designing a secondary school, housing, and a clinic that are now in various stages of construction. Apply for Central Program Council Committees

Want to help plan and work events on campus throughout the year? The Central Program Council is accepting applications for its Cultural Attractions Committee, Visual Arts Committee, and All Campus Events Committee. Getting involved through the council will help develop valuable leadership, management, and communication skills. Applications are due tomorrow.
