Greetings in 2015! The Baker Center calendar of events is still under construction, but the following are some upcoming programs that have been set. A few have asked about the next BDLS and we have several invitations out for the Baker Distinguished Lecture. We will announce those as soon as they are set. We do have a special event coming on Saturday, March 14. We will be hosting an auction of Sen. Baker's car collection. The funds from this unique auction will support Baker Center programs. The following events are free and open to the public: JANUARY Tuesday, Jan. 20 – Baker Students Invite all UT Students to Watch State of the Union in the Toyota - 8:45 pm. Broadcast starts at 9 pm. Thursday, Jan. 29, 12:45- 1:45 pm – Baker Café on Firearms Rights and Regulation.- Dr. Hemant Sharma, UT Political Science - Rotunda Reading Room FEBRUARY Thursday, February 12, 1 - 2:30 pm - Toyota Energy & Environmental Forum with Robert Dickinson & Rong Fu, Geosciences, UT Austin (co-hosted by ORNL) Tues., February 17, 12:45-1:45 pm Baker Café – Serving in the White House, Congress and Tennessee – a look at political internships for students. Learn what it is like to work in the government from three recent students who interned in the White House, US Congress and Tennessee Legislature. Sun., Feb. 22, 1:30 pm - Toyota Howard Baker Public Policy Challenge - Finals Five teams compete to win cash prizes to further work on their policy issue. More details to follow soon.
