Digital Access and Discovery Specialist:  Tennessee Tech University Library seeks an innovative, collaborative, flexible, and user-focused individual to bring energy, creativity, expertise, and leadership to the newly-created position of Digital Access and Discovery Specialist. The Digital Access and Discovery Specialist shares responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, navigation, and user experience of the library's digital information services including the library's discovery tool, e-journal A to Z list, Get It Now service, link resolver, and library website.  The specialist will also be responsible for collaborating on user experience activities (usability, user engagement, feedback), and collaborating on the implementation of the web technology (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Web Scripting Languages) for the Volpe Library's web presence. The Digital Access and Discovery Specialist will enhance the functionality and effectiveness of the Library's digital services in support of teaching, learning, research, and scholarship. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree.  Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field. Experience in library managing access to electronic resources. Experience with implementing and maintaining a link resolver. Experience with usability testing and improving user experience. Interpersonal skills necessary to work with colleagues. Customer service experience. Experience with web based programs, website creation using CSS and HTML5, databases such as MySQL, and scripting languages such as PHP and Javascript. Capacity to discover needs and create innovative solutions to respond effectively to those needs.
