Keep Your Belongings Safe During Winter Break

Campus and surrounding areas have a lot less activity going on as students, faculty, and staff leave for the holidays. With fewer people around, there can be increased opportunities for theft. Whether you stay in Knoxville or travel home, keep these safety tips in mind.
Vol Tip: Staying on or near campus during the break? The T will run on a limited schedule beginning December 12 and will not run from December 20 through 28. Familiarize yourself with the T winter break schedule here.

Apply Now for 2015–2016 Continuing Undergraduate Student Scholarship

Plan to be back on campus next fall? Apply now for the continuing undergraduate student scholarship. The majority of UT scholarship committees, including many in the academic colleges, use this application to consider possible awards for returning students. Follow self-service Banner to the financial aid menu within MyUTK to access the application. The deadline to apply is February 1.

Join UT Recycling as a Waste Warrior

UT Recycling will be screen printing T-shirts and posters from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. today and tomorrow outside of Hodges Library for America Recycles Day. You’ll receive a unique screen print after you sign a pledge promising to recycle and become a Waste Warrior—someone who fights to reduce their environmental impact. Students are encouraged to bring their own T-shirts to be screen printed; however, UT Recycling will have a limited number of T-shirts and posters available.

VolShop Offers Textbook Buyback

Need an easy and quick way to sell back your fall semester textbooks? The VolShop will be buying back textbooks and accepting rental book returns from students today through Thursday, December 11, at seven locations throughout campus. Sophomore Named to Represent SEC

Lady Vols basketball player Diamond DeShields has been selected to represent the SEC on proposed governance rule changes under the NCAA’s recently adopted Division I autonomy process. The new process will pave the way for student-athletes to have a voice at every level of decision making. A sophomore in communication studies, DeShields is one of three student-athletes who will represent the SEC. Congratulations, Diamond!
