Dear GRC members, We are writing to remind you of the upcoming Third International Symposium on Ranaviruses, organized by the Global Ranavirus Consortium (ranavirus.org<http://ranavirus.org>), which will be held 30 May - 1 June 2015. As in the previous, very successful symposia, this Symposium will bring together professionals and students from around the globe to discuss all aspects of ranavirus biology, including: * Ecology, Evolution, and Phylogenetics * Host-Pathogen Interactions * Molecular Identification and Characterization * Immunology and Pathology * Mechanisms of Emergence and Conservation In addition to oral presentations by experts and students, there will be a keynote address by Dr. Richard Whittington (University of Sydney), a poster session and social event, and several breakout discussions. There will also be a day devoted to workshops that cover important topics, such as the design and analysis of ranavirus studies, aseptic sample collection for ranavirus testing, and cutting-edge techniques for molecular diagnostics. The Third International Symposium on Ranaviruses will be followed by the Fifth Florida Marine Mammal Conference. We encourage all individuals with an interest in wildlife diseases to attend. Abstract submissions are due 11 January 2015.
