ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN: Tenure-track, assistant professor, 12-month
position. Sam Houston State University library is looking for a service-oriented energetic
individual to provide leadership and expertise for acquiring, renewing, and managing the
library's electronic resources in a team environment. Responsibilities include: vendor
negotiations, licensing; access to e-resources including e^proxy and linkresolver setup and
troubleshooting; oversight of the CORAL e-resource management system and EDS
discovery tool; collection and analysis of usage statistics from a variety of sources including
EBSCO Usage Consolidation product; reviewing workflow for efficiency and effectiveness;
staying abreast of emerging trends and best practices related to e-resources. Our campus of
19,000 students is located 50 minutes north of Houston in Huntsville, Texas. The Electronic
Resources Librarian is involved with library teams and other professional/scholarly
activities in keeping with university faculty guidelines. Requires a Master of Library Science
degree from an ALA accredited institution; two years of professional library experience,
with at least one year working with the acquisition and/or management of e-resources.
Desired qualifications: experience with management and access issues associated with
electronic resources; ability to manage complex workload effectively with minimal
supervision; demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment; knowledge in
negotiating license agreements, experience with an ERMS (e.g. CORAL), discovery system,
and proxy configuration. Minimum salary $48,000 dependent upon qualifications and
