POSITION SUMMARY
Primary responsibilities include: Provide leadership in planning and managing library metadata resources. This position will work to ensure the metadata quality and data integrity of the electronic journals in the Library’s catalog, Sierra, and/or a discovery system; troubleshooting problems arising from subscription, licensing or access-related technical issues including link resolution and federated searching; analyzing/recommending new vendor products that provide ejournal processing; collecting and analyzing usage statistics available for electronic resources; assist in development of class instruction of databases in collaboration with an Information Services librarian to support WCMC-Q’s tripartite mission.

Professional association sponsored activities or programs; Commercial organization sponsored activities and seminars; Lectures and demonstrations; or, formal instruction at a university or college in a job related subject. Join AHIP or equivalent professional development program within one year of joining WCMC-Q. b. Conduct research and write for publication (minimum one annual peer-reviewed publication, single or co-authored) relevant to the work of the section and/or to the field of Library and Information Science. c. Participate in professional associations and activities, i.e. professional office, committee membership or leadership, listserv management, website maintenance and others.

Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian & Assistant Professor
The University of Mississippi Libraries seeks an Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian with energy and initiative to provide leadership and effective management for the discovery of the libraries’ electronic resources. Working in a team environment, the incumbent will be responsible for leading library-wide efforts to optimize technologies designed to help publicize the libraries’ collections, and for providing user-centric services for information access and discovery.
Under the direction of the Head of Continuing Resources, the incumbent will:
Qualifications:
· ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science by start of position
· Experience supporting electronic resource lifecycle activities in an academic or research library
The position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment. Minimum annual salary is $48,000, and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
