Sophomore men’s tennis player
Sean Karl died Sunday in Knoxville after a two-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. A
memorial service will be held on campus at Goodfriend Tennis Center, located behind
Apartment Residence Hall, this afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and team
ask that all attendees to wear Tennessee orange.

Jessika will attend football practice tonight
and join the team on the sidelines for this weekend’s game against Missouri.
Jessika is a senior in nursing from Surgoinsville, Tennessee. She was chosen because of
her incredibly high number of T-credits and loyalty points which
she has earned by attending UT Athletics events.

ESPN’s SEC Network will broadcast
its live “SEC Nation” program from the south lawn of Ayres Hall from
10:00 a.m. to noon this Saturday. Fans will be admitted to a viewing area near the show
stage and are encouraged to arrive by 9:00 a.m. Students are encouraged to bring signs
to show their school spirit!

Foreign Languages and Literatures will show off their baking skills in a dessert contest
sponsored by the Italian Club. Stop by to watch and sample the treats from 4:30 to 6:30
p.m. tomorrow at the Black Cultural Center. Former football coach Phillip Fulmer will join
the panel of judges.

Volunteers are needed to join the Waste
Warriors to hand out recycling bags in tailgate areas or to collect recyclables at Neyland
Stadium during this Saturday’s game against Missouri. Can’t make it on Saturday?
There will also be a stadium clean up on Sunday. You’ll receive a free t-shirt for helping

Robert Jacobsen is an enthusiastic and
dedication graduate student in geology. He has contributed a lot to the geology
department. He also serves in various roles for the Bridges International program, an
organization that serves the needs of international students on campus and volunteers
