Inaugural Howl-O-Ween at the UT Gardens

Halloween-themed event for pet owners and their dogs


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The UT Gardens is going to the dogs for a Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade and Pet Expo. The event, sponsored by the UT Gardens and the UT College of Veterinary Medicine, caters to dogs and dog lovers and will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the UT Gardens.

 

Enjoy a costumed pet parade emceed by Erin Donovan with Visit Knoxville. The event also includes dog rescue groups, pet businesses, educational booths, children’s activities (including Ruff Reading with HABIT), and canine demonstrations. Cruze Farm, Gonzo Gourmet and Tootsie Truck will be on hand for people wanting to purchase food.

 

The event is free to attend, and parade preregistration is $5 per dog and $10 at the event. The parade will begin at 3 p.m. and is judged by locally known dog lovers. Costume categories include best in show, most creative, pet-owner look-a-like, funniest costume, most glamorous costume, only a mom could love, and judges’ choice.
