UT’s student radio station, WUTK 90.3 The Rock, will
once again celebrate “World College Radio Day” tomorrow. Make sure to tune in to hear live
interviews, in-station musical performances, and surprise announcements during the
celebration. Last year, more than 700 college and university student radio stations in forty-
three countries came together to recognize the importance of student radio.

The Office of the Provost is accepting entries from
students who would like to speak at the fall 2014 commencement ceremony on December
13. You must be receiving your bachelor’s degree at this ceremony too. You may submit
your commencement speech for consideration by 5:00 p.m. November 7. Learn more about

Featured speaker Fred Bemak serves as the founder and director of the Diversity Research
and Action Center at George Mason University and founder of Counselors Without Borders.

Celebrate the unique culture of Brazil during next
week’s World Showcase.
On Monday, watch a documentary during the Brazilian Coffeehouse. Learn how to make a
traditional Brazilian dish during Tuesday’s cooking demonstration. Enjoy a
traditional Brazilian meal, hear presentations, listen to music, and dance at the Brazilian
culture night on Wednesday. All events take place at 6:00 p.m. in the International House
Great Room.
