Celebrate the diverse culture on our campus with
games, food, and activities during next week’s International Education Week. The
five-day event will feature an international photo exhibit, short films, an open house, trivia
night, contests, and lectures. The celebration concludes on Friday with the thirtieth annual
International Festival—which offers attendees a trip around the globe with foods, artifacts,

your community? Join other students, faculty, and staff in giving back during UT’s Campus Chest Campaign now
through October 31, 2014. The campaign focuses on meeting the needs of people and
families of East Tennessee. Donate at any of the Campus Chest buckets located beside cash
registers at all UT Dining locations or visit the SGA office in the UC’s Room 315 to
make a donation to a specific non-profit organization.

It’s that time of year! Career Services is getting
ready to host three full days of internship and job fairs next week. Job fairs are the perfect
time for to begin searching for internship and job opportunities. The fairs bring hundreds of
corporate employers, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to campus. Dress
professionally, think of questions to ask, and bring several copies of your resume.

details about next week’s job fairs: the Supply Chain Management fair; the
Business, Retail, and Government fair; and the Engineering and STEM fair.

staff, and students will discuss diversity and inclusion issues during our annual Diversity and
Inclusion Week. A keynote speech, an open forum, panels, and a diversity festival are
scheduled to help broaden our campus community’s understanding and

Are you interested in working in government on Capitol
Hill? The Congressional Internship Program gives students of every major the opportunity to
intern with Tennessee’s Legislators in Washington, DC. Selected students will also receive a
scholarship to offset costs of living in Washington DC for the duration of the internship. Applications are due
October 3.

Sexual Empowerment
and Awareness at Tennessee is hosting a series of sexual assault prevention
workshops from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20 at the Howard H. Baker Jr.
Center for Public Policy. Everyone is invited to attend workshops that will focus on consent,
Title IX, relationship and dating violence, assault in the LGBTQ+ community, and how to be

If you’ve ever wanted to live in a different
country—for a month, a semester, or a year—study abroad! Stop by the Study Abroad Fair
for tips on how to get started and hear about the different programs and summer
internships. Meet students who have studied abroad and get information on scholarships
and financial aid. The fair is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24 in the
UC Ballroom.

Marcus Amos, a second-year doctoral student in sport
management, will appear in Locker Room Addiction, a film produced by
DirecTV that airs locally at 8:00 p.m. this Saturday on DirecTV’s Audience Channel 239.
Marcus has raised awareness through his research about the abuse of pain pills among
college athletes and how to address and prevent the addiction. Learn more about his
