Dear Geography Students (Graduate and Undergraduate):
I would like to invite you to attend a special departmental event. On October 2, 2014, the Geography community at the University of Tennessee will bestow its Distinguished Alumni Award to three people who have achieved great things in
their careers.
Outstanding Alumnus
Dan C. Hawk, Jr. (BA 1983, MS 1986)
For outstanding public service to the State of Tennessee
Outstanding Alumna
Ruth A. Hawk (MS 1985)
For excellence in municipal-services planning and mentoring
Outstanding Alumnus
Glen Harrison (PhD 1986)
For outstanding contributions to international transportation and logistics planning
The awards ceremony will be held at the Hodges Library Auditorium at 4:00pm, preceded by a reception honoring the recipients. The reception will begin at 3:30pm and take place in the Galleria space in front of the Library Auditorium.
The Department of Geography looks forward to this opportunity to celebrate the history of the program.
