Anton’s Tips for College Success

Whether you’re a new or returning student, it’s never too soon to plan for a successful semester. Anton Reece, executive director of the Student Success Center, has ten important tips for success during your time in college.

FYS 100 Assignments Due by Friday

There are still a few more assignments for the First-Year Studies 100 course that all freshmen must complete. Before you begin the holiday weekend, remember to log in to Blackboard to finish all of your remaining assignments by Friday, August 29 in order to receive a satisfactory grade.

Pride of the Southland Band Kicks off Season with New Music, Surprises

Fans of the Pride of the Southland Band are in for a treat this season when UT’s beloved marching band takes the field. The 340-member band features 150 freshmen—its largest group of freshmen to date. Catch up with the band and learn about some of their new initiatives here.

Career Services Cookout This Thursday

As a kick-off to recruiting season, Career Services will host their annual cookout from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday outside of their offices at Dunford Hall. Meet members of their staff, enjoy free food, and get a free planner.

Buy Local from the UT Farmers Market

Did you know that UT has its own farmers market? Stock up on veggies, fruit, and locally made products at the UT Gardens on the Agriculture campus. The market is set up from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays through October 22.

Get Global; Become an I- Vol

If you’re interested in meeting new people from around the world, you should apply to become an I-Vol. This student volunteer group helps with the various events throughout the year hosted by the International House. Applications are due August 31 and can be found here.
