The VolShop on Cumberland
Avenue will host a grand opening event from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. this
Saturday. The store will pass out grab bags to the first fifty customers and
offer other fun giveaway items. Visitors can also register for other prizes—
including suite tickets to the Utah State game. The two-level store includes
apparel and gifts and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays
through Saturdays and 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sundays.

Need to run to the store but
don’t have a car? You can reserve self-service cars by the hour or day,
24/7, with Zipcar. Once you make a
reservation, head to the corner of Twentieth Street and Andy Holt Avenue near
Presidential Court to pick it up and get moving to your next location.
Vol Tip: Download the Zipcar app to make a quick
reservation when you need to get somewhere fast!

Do you need to replace an
existing Tennessee driver’s license or state ID card? You can renew it
right here on campus at the Thompson Boling Arena driver’s license
kiosk from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The kiosk takes your
picture and processes your credit card payment to print a temporary license,
which is valid for twenty days. The new secure license or ID will then be mailed
to you.

Join UT Recycling and the
Office of Sustainability for the first ever reVOLve yard sale in Circle Park from
noon to 8:00 p.m. today. The yard sale will feature gently used clothing and
goods donated by UT students at the end of last semester. Prices range from
one to ten dollars.

blessed with a creative touch? Your art could be on display in Hodges Library.
The library is looking for artwork for their Student Art in the Library juried
competition. Cash prizes will be awarded. Submit your work by September 21.

Girls on the Run of Greater
Knoxville needs coaches for this fall semester! Girls on the Run is an afterschool
program for third- through eighth-grade girls, teaching them life skills through
dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with
the girls completing a celebratory 5K running event. You do not have to be a
runner to volunteer for the program. Learn more about coaching and fill out a
volunteer application here.

Service is part of being a
Tennessee Volunteer. The Center for Leadership and Service’s Sign Up
to Serve calendar gives you plenty of chances to give back to the community.
Browse the
calendar to find volunteer opportunities for various organizations and
events around Knoxville.
Vol Tip: Apply to
participate in one of UT’s Alternative Fall Break trips, where
you’ll have the chance to serve another community while making new
friends. Applications are due by September 1.
