College of Social Work Becomes Yellow Ribbon School

The College of Social Work has become the second program at the University of Tennessee to receive approval to participate in the Yellow Ribbon G.I. Bill Education Enhancement Program, also known as the Yellow Ribbon Program. The College's participation is set to begin in the 2014-2015 academic year.

UTK CSW will make a contribution to one individual student during the academic year, for a maximum amount of $3000.00 per academic year. The Yellow Ribbon Program matches the scholarship, doubling the benefit to the student. This award will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis.

A series of eight workshops are being made available online by the UT College of Social Work for Tennessee social workers, healthcare and social service providers, students and faculty serving populations that include U.S. veterans and/or their families.

These workshops were originally provided free of charge and open to students and service providers in Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, and Sumner Counties under a grant provided by the Memorial Foundation in cooperation with the Nashville branch of the UT College of Social Work.

The first of the online workshops are available now through the College of Social Work Learning Management System, offering continuing education to practitioners serving military populations throughout the state.
