Shimberg Health Sciences Library Job Opening - Instructor Librarian The Shimberg Health Sciences Library at the University of South Florida seeks applicants for the position of Emerging Technologies Librarian/College of Pharmacy Liaison. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION (1.0 FTE): Supports creative and innovative uses of technology in library educational offerings; provides reference services including mediated literature searching; maintains awareness of resources and trends in educational technologies, develops instructional materials; provides consultation on appropriate technology use; serves as COP liaison librarian Minimum Qualifications: Accredited Master's degree in Library Science. Minimum one year experience in the following: Library instruction; Reference Assistance; Instructional materials development; Technology knowledge and utilization experience; Project management. Experience in health sciences libraries. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Initiative, flexibility, and a strong service orientation essential. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in: Searching pharmacy resources (e.g. Micromedex, Lexicomp, Facts and Comparisons); EBM application and instruction; LMS systems (e.g. BlackBoard or Canvas); Distance learning technologies (e.g. Elluminate or Articulate); Marketing library services. TEACHING DUTIES (50% FTE): Serves as College of Pharmacy (COP) Drug information/Literature evaluation course instructor; adjunct instructor for COP Research Methods and Biostatistics. Teaches library classes; develops instructional materials, modules, tutorials, etc. as needed, in applicable media RESEARCH DUTIES (25% FTE): Identifies initiatives and projects to enhance and develop state-of-the-art online library services and resources; Tracks trends, investigates new developments and applications, and incorporates appropriate technologies into the library environment to improve library services and access to resources; collaborates with library faculty on initiatives that enhance and further develop state-of-the-art knowledge integration applications and online services and resources OTHER DUTIES (25%) Provides information management support as COP liaison, including but not limited to educational resources evaluation, textbook ordering, bibliographic software training and support; committee assignments; reference assistance; provide bibliographic software support; serves on library committees; other duties as assigned Accredited Master’s degree in Library Science; minimum one year experience in the following: library instruction; reference assistance; instructional materials development; technology knowledge and utilization experience; project management Please see complete job advertisement and apply for the position at: http://tinyurl.com/nwhypwx Rose L.
