O’More College of Design has an opening for the position of Librarian. The Librarian is responsible for all aspects of library management including information literacy programs for faculty and students; reference services; collection development and maintenance;
cataloguing; circulation; supervising student workers.
Responsibilities:

Creates and implements information literacy programs including using library eBooks, databases and catalogs; stays abreast of current trends in technology

Assists faculty in integrating technology in the classroom

Assists customers at the Information Desk providing reference assistance, reader’s advisory and referral services
-
Develops and manages the collection
-
Assists with the formulation and interpretation of policy recommendations and procedures
-
Helps customers locate needed materials and refers customers to other appropriate assistance
-
Attends work-related professional development classes, webinars, conferences, meetings and training sessions
-
Promotes the library to all stakeholders
Qualifications:
Requirements for the position are as follows:

Master of Library and Information Science Degree from an ALA accredited institution

Knowledge of current information platforms, especially those in fashion design, architecture and graphic design

Ability to be flexible, and meet the information needs of constituents
-
Knowledge of professional library methods, reference sources and practices

Ability to multi-task and problem solve

A strong customer service orientation

Committed to excellence in customer service

Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision

Ability to catalog and classify

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, online databases, and design of print public relations materials

Must possess the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, and other diverse groups and individuals in a friendly manner; excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to lift, push/pull, hold/carry materials up to 50 lbs., to stand, sit and walk for 5 hours per day, and to climb, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
