Featured student: Adam Whitfield

Adam WhitfieldOur student this week is Adam Whitfield, at right, a mechanical engineering major who accepted a co-op at Heatcraft Refrigeration Products, located in Tifton, Georgia.

Adam describes the department he worked in and what his main responsibilities were.

"I worked in the manufacturing engineering department," he said. "My responsibilities involved analyzing and modifying production lines for better quality, efficiency, and safety."

The most valuable benefit Adam received during his co-op assignment was giving him experience and opening his eyes to what the working world is like outside of the classroom.

"I have a better idea of what I want my career path to look like and how I want to do it," said Whitfield.

Students, please note: If you receive a co-op or internship offer, please contact Engineering Professional Practice for help with paperwork and any preparations you may need – [log in to unmask], 865-974-5323, or 310 Perkins Hall.
