Webinar: Measuring the Shared Value of Anchor Community Engagement
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) presents a What Works Webinar on June 5th, 2014 focusing on anchor institutions and the
measurement of community impact. Anchor institutions can play an important role in community economies due to purchasing power, real estate investments, employment opportunities, and other factors. While some community anchors have embraced this role and initiated
community-development strategies, others have not leveraged their strengths in order to mutually benefit both their organization and the community. This webinar will discuss best practice approaches for measuring the impact of anchor institutions in order
to provide a better understanding of anchor impact that may strengthen the investment that organizations make in their communities (H/T @CCPH2010 Twitter).

Webinar: The Positive Development of Youth: Comprehensive Findings from the 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development
Derived from a relational developmental systems theoretical perspective, a 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development (PYD) tested the idea that
when the strengths of youth are aligned with key resources in their context, PYD will occur. Assessing over 7,000 youth (and over 3,500 of their parents) from 42 states and across Grades 5 to 12, the study identified links between PYD and youth contributions
to their communities. Study directors Dr. Richard Lerner, Tufts University; Dr. Jacqueline Lerner, Boston College; and Dr. Kristina Callina, Tufts University, will present key findings from the study and, in particular, the results specific to youth participating
in 4-H. The implications of the findings of the study for future research, for youth development programs, and for social policy will be discussed.
Webinar: June 9th, 2014, 3:00-4:00 PM ET
