DESCRIPTION: The Material Handling Technician (MHT) Supervisor position
manages all material handling duties including processing library
materials, manually or using automated handling equipment; shelving and
retrieving library materials, straightening and reading shelves. The
position supervises all staff management procedures: hires, trains,
coaches, develops and evaluates the Material Handling Technician (MHT) and
Lead MHT employees and monitors the workload of staff. The position
partners frequently with Patron Services Department Heads and Operations
Supervisor for general circulation..

*LAC Group* seeks a Part-Time *Library Technician* (20 hours per week) for
an ongoing assignment for our client, a general practice law firm
representing clients across the United States and around the world.   This
position can work a flexible schedule, Monday - Friday, between the hours
of 9:00am - 5:00pm, that equals approximately 20 hours per week.   This
position will work from the firm's Chicago office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

   - Processing and tracking invoices for payment;
   - Resolving delivery and payment problems with vendors;
   - Maintaining vendor files of correspondence and paid invoices;
   - Evaluating monthly accounting general ledger reports for accuracy;
   - Preparing reports;
   - Additional technical services duties as required.

Qualifications:

   - Previous experience working in a law firm library is highly desired;
   - Strong MS Office skills are required;
   - Previous experience working in a law firm or corporate environment;
   - Ability to communicate well with others and to work with vendors;
   - Previous experience working with library technical services is
   preferred;
   - College degree or some college coursework (students are OK) is desired.

   *Scholarly Communications Librarian - **Faculty Position (11079)*

   Salisbury University is seeking a talented and resourceful applicant to
   join the staff of Blackwell Library as the Scholarly Communications
   Librarian.

   This person will take the lead in helping SU faculty, staff, and
   students understand and respond to changing modes of scholarly
   communications, open access and copyright issues, and digital publishing
   and archiving.

   *Primary Job Duties*: Develop, promote, and manage the institutional
   repository. Serve as a campus resource and advocate for scholarly
   communications, open access, and alternative/digital publishing models,
   collaborating with faculty and staff as appropriate. Serve as the SU
   Libraries intellectual property rights expert. Work closely with the Head
   of Public Services and the Head of Circulation in the management of all
   Access Services functions (circulation, ILL, and reserves), recommending
   new policies, services, and enhancements as well as providing back-up
   support as needed. Oversee and process print and online reserves.
   Participate in University System of Maryland committees related to
   scholarly communications and access services.

   *Minimum Qualifications*: ALA-accredited master's degree or foreign
   equivalent. Two years of public services experience in academic libraries.
   Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of scholarly communication and
   publishing, including open access and copyright. Thorough knowledge of
   institutional repository trends and best practices. Evidence of leadership
   and initiative.

   Job Summary: The person in this position serves as the Head of Metadata
   and Digitization. Responsibilities include using knowledge of
   classification systems, subject thesauri, and cataloging rules to catalog
   print and electronic materials in the library. The person in this position
   establishes policies and procedures for the section, sets priorities and
   workflow for the section, supervises 2 FTE, and establishes bibliographic
   control for all library materials. Additionally, this person is responsible
   for development and maintenance of the LSU Health Shreveport Archives as
   well as the History of Medicine Collection, including content development
   of the library's web pages associated with historical collections. The
   incumbent also establishes procedures and workflows for digital initiatives
   of the library. Other duties include creating original exhibits and
   securing traveling exhibits. Duties associated with the archives include
   creation of finding aids, organizing the materials, coordinating donor
   relations, and selecting materials appropriate for scanning into digital
   collections which can be accessed online. The person in this position must
   provide statistical information for various required reports and for
   holdings information.

    Minimum qualifications: Professional degree from an ALA-accredited
   library school; an understanding of general library procedures; basic
   understanding of computer applications in a library environment; knowledge
   of database management, spreadsheet, and word processing programs; a
   minimum 5 years of recent experience with metadata creation/cataloging and
   archival maintenance. Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative or
   supervisory level position in a library preferred.  Must have excellent
   communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on a team-oriented,
   collaborative environment, problem solving ability, excellent microcomputer
   skills, and ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, faculty
   and staff.

   Must have knowledge of the *Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules*, 2nd
   revision; Resource Description and Access (RDA); the National Library of
   Medicine Classification system; Medical Subject Headings (MeSH); *Describing
   Archives: A Content Standard*; and Dublin Core. Experience using an
   integrated library system and OCLC. Demonstrated knowledge of cataloging in
   various formats, of metadata creation and best practices and standards.
   Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat PDF software, and ContentDM.
