Please see below for details and rapidly approaching deadlines. I hope to see many of you there. Kurt Butefish Member, TNGIC Board of Directors **************************** 2014 Annual TNGIC Conference Memphis, TN April 23-24, 2014 Pre-conference training and activities April 22, 2014 Standard Registration closing Tuesday, Apr. 8th Hey folks, Don't miss out on the pre-conference classes. We have something for everyone. The "Experience GIS in Tennessee" is a great entry level GIS course. Even for those with more experience, it covers data sets in TN, spatial analysis, and cartography in the current version of ArcGIS. "Cartographic Design Fundamentals" includes necessary details for map making from the judge's viewpoint. This will be great preparation for your next map contest!! There are two classes on LiDAR - "Introduction to LiDAR" and "Advanced LiDAR Uses". Some areas in Tennessee have LiDAR data available including many West TN counties. Take these classes to learn how to use this valuable data set! And for the first time, TNGIC is offering "The GISCI Certification Process - Completing the Application" for those interested in their GISP certification. Bring your documents and COMPLETE the application in class! The classes are an excellent value at $50 for a full day class and $25 for a half day class!! Some of the classes are already filling up! See the attachment for class details and descriptions. Students - don't forget to apply for a student assistantship to attend the conference. Take this opportunity to see GIS at work in Tennessee. You might even land yourself a job!! The application deadline is Friday, April 4th! Other activities include the golf tournament, map gallery, Memphis social, presentations, workshops, Dr. Shop / Vendor Tool Time, corn hole tournament, TNGIC Business meeting, TNGIC Committee meetings, and valuable networking!! We will also have a job board. So bring your resume or job announcements for posting. Visit the TNGIC website often at www.tngic.org<http://www.tngic.org/> for updated information and to register.
