Cast Your Vote This Week During SGA Elections

Help decide which students will lead the student body as SGA's new executive board members. Cast your vote online on the Vote SGA website from 7:30 a.m. Wednesday until 4:30 p.m. Thursday. You can also vote from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Pedestrian Walkway both days.

UT-State Department Program to Host Olympian Michelle Kwan, Foreign Athletes and Coaches

Young female athletes from around the globe and Michelle Kwan—five-time world figure skating champion, two-time Olympic medalist and senior adviser at the U.S. Department of State—will visit UT during the next few weeks.

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Kwan will make remarks followed by a panel discussion with her and the visiting coaches at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.

Cone Zone: One Lane of Kingston Pike Near Campus Closed

Eastbound traffic on a section of Kingston Pike near campus will be reduced to one lane today through Friday. The outside eastbound lane will be closed near the intersection with Metron Center Way, for underground utility work for the new University Commons shopping complex.

Help International Students on Campus Next Year

Want to help international students adjust to campus? As a UT guide, you will assist with the international student orientation and retreat in August. Apply by April 9. The International House is also hiring student assistants to begin work in the fall. Applications are due April 14.


Imagine New Ways to Solve Problems with Design Thinking

Spend your summer imagining new ways to solve problems and testing real-world creative solutions for college credit. The Design Thinking course will provide you with an introduction to design thinking and innovation. The course is open to undergraduate students from all majors.

Gene Robinson Discussion of Faith and Sexuality

Today, 7:00 p.m., UC Auditorium 
Attend a discussion about the intersection between faith and sexuality with Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the Wider Anglican Church. Elected Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire in 2003, Robinson caused a schism within the Catholic Church.


Tennessee Venture Challenge Pitch Competition

Thursday, 3:00 p.m., The Foundry in World's Fair Park
Learn about different ideas coming out of UT during this pitch competition, a celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation that will reward the winning team and recognize recent startup companies based on UT technologies. 


Second Annual Disability Issues and Advocacy Conference

Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m., Baker Center Toyota Auditorium 
Be a part of the conversation during the Second Annual Disability Issues and Advocacy Conference. The event brings disability scholars and advocates together to discuss issues of respect, justice, equality, and policy for people with disabilities.
