King University, a private, comprehensive university founded in the
Presbyterian tradition, is inviting applications for an Instructional
Services Librarian to join our engaged, user-centered, and forward-thinking
library faculty.  Position is full-time with faculty status and is based at
King's Bristol campus in the beautiful foothills of Northeast Tennessee.
Position to begin in the summer of 2014.
This position will have the following duties:
·Primary responsibility for designing, delivering, and assessing the
information literacy program to traditional students based on the Bristol
Campus
· Provide secondary support for and collaborate with librarians serving
distance students
· Oversee the activities of the Reference Department including virtual
reference, reference desk service, and research consultations
·   Manage Reserves
·   Serve as liaison to assigned academic departments for collection
development

The successful candidate is expected to:

·       have knowledge of a wide range of print and electronic information
resources
·       have demonstrated teaching experience
·       be familiar with current practices, theory, and issues related to
information literacy instruction, assessment, and reference services
·       have experience in design of online instructional aids including
using course management software; Libguides; screencasting and other
applicable technologies
·       have a willingness to form strategic partnerships with campus
entities
·       have the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a
team-based environment
·       have the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy,
time-sensitive environment
·       become engaged in the King University community

Candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills,
be self-motivated, organized with attention to detail, inquisitive, eager
to gain new skills and expertise, adaptable, and capable of working
collaboratively.   Copyright knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree in library and/or
information science is required and three years of professional experience
preferred. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Some travel
will be required.

provide library services to online students and faculty.  This position
