Library Director, Sweetwater Public Library
Dynamic, personable library professional needed to lead the well-established public library in Sweetwater, TN. Under the supervision of the Sweetwater Library Board, the Library Director is responsible
for the overall operations of the Library and the development and implementation of its service program, including:

Assisting the Board of Trustees with long range planning and policy development
·
Assisting the Board of Trustees in maintaining positive relationships with the governmental entities who provide public funding
·
Designing and implementing services and programs for users of all ages
·
Supervising, training, and hiring, as needed, all employees
·
Managing all Library resources, including technological resources
·
Overseeing the Library’s finances and budget process
Education and experience requirements: Applicants must have a 4-year college degree. An MLS from an ALA accredited school is desired. Public library experience
in an automated environment is strongly preferred, as is management and customer service experience.

The Board of Trustees is seeking an enthusiastic, effective director who can lead and manage change. This position requires an individual who excels at problem-solving and multi-tasking, one who values high-quality
customer service, one who is technologically savvy, and one who communicates well both verbally and in writing.
Setting: Located in Monroe County, Sweetwater is situated in the scenic Sweetwater Valley, with the Cherokee National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park close by. Situated on the I-75 corridor, it is within an hour of Chattanooga or Knoxville. Monroe County is home to Hiwassee College.

Hours and Compensation:
35 hours per week. Salary is negotiable from $34,000 based on education and experience.
