Students to Watch: Dabney Wilson, the Storyteller

Dabney Wilson was only four when her cousin Clayton died of cancer. The UT nursing student has few personal memories of him, but his legacy lives on through others’ stories about him. Wilson dreamed up an idea to give kids like Clayton a lasting voice and memorial through digital storytelling.


Residence Halls Receive Expanded Television Channel Lineup

UT has partnered with Campus Televideo, powered by Direct TV, to provide expanded TV service on campus, expanding current channel offerings and providing more than fifty HD channels. Learn about how to get service and how to program your digital TV to receive all the channels. 


Pie Your Favorite Faculty and Staff Members For a Good Cause

The Alternative Break Program is hosting a pie fundraiser from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tomorrow on the Pedestrian Walkway. Bring $3 and you'll receive a plate full of whipped cream to pie your favorite faculty and staff members in the face including Dean Jeff Cathey, Keith Becklin of Student Activities, and more.

National Survey of Student Engagement

Did you know UT students’ satisfaction with academic advising services has increased 18 percent over the past decade? Past UT student responses to the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) helped the university improve the academic advising process. If you’re a freshman or senior, please look for the NSSE e-mail and respond.


Summer School Registration Underway

The summer school timetable is now available, and priority, senior, and junior registration is underway. Sophomores and freshmen can begin registering next week. Take a look at the timetable of classes, and don’t forget to consult your advisor.

ESPN Production Operations Intern
Learn from innovative groundbreakers in the sports media industry and become a key player in their operations. Summer internships run June through mid-August. Most interns will work from ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conneticut.

Emerging Leaders Class Accepting Applications

Sign up for the Emerging Leaders class, a 3-credit-hour leadership course taught every fall for rising sophomores interested in studying leaders, leadership theories, and the application of leadership. Applications are due March 14. 


Graduate Students

Sign Up for the Big Orange Adventure Scavenger Hunt

Join the Graduate Student Senate for the Big Orange Adventure. Participants will race around campus, searching for clues and completing tasks in order to figure out the location of the finish line. The race takes place April 5.

RecycleMania Volunteers Needed for Basketball Game

UT Recycling needs your help to win the Game Day Recycling Challenge. They want to compost and recycle everything from the UT basketball game on Saturday. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt, food, and points for those competing on teams in RecycleMania.

Options For Your Legal Education from UT

Karla McKanders, associate professor, will speak during an informal lunchtime session and focus on the value of a legal education for diverse students.


Religion and Sexuality Panel

Today, 6:30 p.m., UC Auditorium
Faith, religion, and spirituality often play a significant role in the expression–or lack thereof–of sexual identity. A panel of religious leaders from many different backgrounds will discuss how sex and gender are treated in different religions.


Safe Spring Break

Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Pedestrian Walkway
The S.E.E. Center will offer activities for students highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy lifestyle during spring break and year-round. Free flash drives and spring break tank tops will be given to the first 100 student participants each day.
