Behind MOOCs: What are they worth to higher education and students?
After offering the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Metadata: Organizing and Discovering Information on Coursera in 2013, University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Library and Information Science, Associate Professor Jeffrey Pomerantz '97LS has taught more students in one MOOC than he has throughout his twelve-year career in academia.

Faculty Profile: Mónica Cólon-Aguirre
Working as a jack of all trades in libraries in Puerto Rico in 2003, Assistant Professor Mónica Cólon-Aguirre began her career managing budgets, negotiating prices, and cataloging books. Eventually, she was told to work at the reference desk, "which was feared by everyone." That didn't stop Cólon-Aguirre, who loved providing reference service directly to the public.
