Applications are invited for appointment as Director of the eLearning Pedagogical Support Unit (EPSU) (at the level of Associate Professor) in the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL). The appointment will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, tenable from as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal.

 

The EPSU Director will be responsible for implementing policies relating to the University’s eLearning strategy. He/She will lead and manage eLearning pedagogical support activities for academic staff, and lead in the provision of professional development activities for teachers in the Faculties. The appointee will also work closely with key stakeholders across the University, including Information Technology Services.

 

Applicants should have a doctoral degree, preferably in the area of eLearning, and/or have extensive experience in using e-technology in curriculum design and classroom teaching. They should be familiar with the research literature in eLearning and cutting edge developments in the area, and provide evidence of active scholarship and leadership in eLearning projects. Experience in working in units of a similar nature would be a clear advantage.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
