Florence and London Summer Programs 2014

 Now is the time to secure your place in 2014 SILS study abroad programs! 

Don't miss out on the exciting opportunities that will expand your educational and career horizons!

 

1. FLORENCE - 2014 Pratt SILS with SACI Florence Summer Program

·       DATES: May 22-June 20, 2014 – Two courses; 6 credits

·        In partnership with Studio Art Centers International (SACI) (http://saci-florence.edu/)

·        Two 3-credit courses: Florentine Art & Culture, Museum and Library Research

·        Students will have the opportunity to study with leading Italian conservators in conservations studios

·        The program features visits to museums and libraries of Florence, as well as day and weekend trips to nearby cities such as Lucca, Siena and Bologna.

2. LONDON - 2014 Pratt SILS with King’s College E-Publishing & Digital Scholarship Program

·       DATES: June 23-July 4, 2014 - one course; 3 credits

·        In partnership with King’s College Department of Digital Humanities (http://www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/depts/ddh/index.aspx)

·        Provides students with the special opportunities to study with recognized leaders in information science research and in e-publishing

·        Participate in the 2nd Strand Symposium on digital scholarship and e-publishing (June 26, 2014).  ·        

The program also features day trips to Oxford and Cambridge, visits to the British and the Bodleian Libraries, as well as various London publishers

 *Enrollment in SILS study abroad programs is limited to graduate students in library & information science or the arts and humanities or those holding graduate degrees in these fields.
