We are pleased to announce that the course "In the Scottish Archive" from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) School of Information Studies is open for applications. Join us on a focused learning course which will concentrate on theory and practices of Scottish archivists and other information professionals in Europe, allowing for a comparative study with US theory and practice. Course will be based at a country estate near Edinburgh, Scotland, and will include many site visits to archives and libraries. These are scheduled to include the National Archives of Scotland, Parliament, the Digital Curation Centre, and the University of Edinburgh. Also planned is an excursion into the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Coursework for this 3 credit, graduate-level class will include pre-travel readings and pre- and post-travel writings, as well as onsite lectures and discussions. Prerequisite: consent of instructor; apply as non-degree UWM Special Student. The course is open to students from other programs, though priority consideration will be given to current UWM MLIS students.
