On Tuesday, April 8, 10:00 a.m., Dr. Craig Barrett, Former Chairman of the Board, Intel Corporation, will present in a live webcast from ORNL to the Toyota Room of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.  UT faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the live webcast and to participate via the web.  The presentation title is “Economic Competitiveness in the 21st Century”. 

 

Dr. Barrett is the former chairman of the board of Intel Corporation, a post he held until 2009.  He is a leading advocate for improving education in the United States and around the world and for raising social and economic standards globally through technology.  Barrett chairs Change for Equation, a national STEM education coalition, and has served on numerous boards, policy panels, and government committees, including the United Nations Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development, the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, and the Clinton Global Initiative Education Advisory Board.  He received BS, MS, and PhD degrees from Stanford University in Materials Science.
