Dr. John Holdren, Director, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will present through a live webcast from ORNL to the Toyota Room of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.  UT faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend this live webcast.  The presentation title is:  “Science and Technology in the Obama Administration”.  

 

Dr. John Holdren is an assistant to the President for science and technology.  He is the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).  Dr. Holdren served as a member of PCAST through both terms of the Clinton administration and chaired studies on preventing theft of nuclear materials, disposition of surplus weapon plutonium, the prospects of fusion energy, U.S. energy research and development strategy, and international cooperation on energy-technology innovation.

 

This presentation is as part of the Eugene P. Wigner Distinguished Lecture Series in Science, Technology, and Policy sponsored by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
