LAC Group seeks an experienced and innovative Legal Services Information Professional to provide legal research and support attorneys for our client, a prestigious law firm located in New York. We are seeking candidates with prior experience working in a legal or corporate environment to provide legal research, collection development analysis and management, training, and support marketing and business development. Candidates will help implement new information procedures and will work with the firm’s practice groups to review and analyze content, products and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze content, products and tools for the firm’s library;

Provide support for attorneys with research. This requires exploration into all areas of the firm’s fields of practice;

Develop a knowledge of the firm’s practice areas and specific projects, and work proactively to provide information and news as it develops;

Support and help implement a knowledge platform and portal for the firm and conduct training as required or necessary;

Train att orneys and staff in the processes of information resources.
Required Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required with a Master’s degree in Library or Information Science preferred, or the equivalent experience working in a multi-practice law firm;
- Proficiency with online legal, business and industry research using resources such as Lexis, BNA, CCH, and other online resources;
- A minimum of 2 to 5 Years of experience providing legal research in a legal or corporate library;

Strong reference capabilities and the ability to perform electronic resources management;
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize duties and requests;
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse set of personalities and needs.

Excellent research and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to work quickly and handle requests that require immediate resolution;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple time-critical assignments;
